The weekend......

WOW!!! It happened! We pulled it off without a problem. We had the biggest BBQ that we have ever thrown this weekend while having 5 people stay with us from out of town. What a blast!!! I love entertaining guests. I think I was born to Host:):):) From cleaning the house, to preparing meals, and getting beds together, the whole bit is my "cup'a'tea". My best friend Emily and her mom, boyfriend/fiance', and her sister, and her sisters friend, they were all here and we had a great time. Saturday we decided to throw a BBQ. It started out to be a few guest and before you know it we were up to 40 people. Doesn't sound like a large number in its self, but couple it with all the kids, b/c that was not including the children, and then throw in how much chicken I had to marinate, WOW! It was a lot.

I went to Target to get a few outdoor, toy type things and maybe a little plastic pool, or two to help entertain all the kids. Unfortunately every time I enter Target, even if I am just there to buy something that cost $10, I still walk out spending $75. That seems to be the magic number. Yes my husband still loves me, but you would think he would learn his lesson and know better not to send me to Target unsupervised.:):):) Anyway, I went in, and went back to the outdoor toy/pool section and decided, b/c they didn't have the $10 pools, that I somehow needed to buy a $50 one with a filter and pump that requires chlorine stuff and the whole bit, plus I bought a few other things. I spent $77, so right around that magic number.:):) The kids had a blast though and now we have something that we can play with all summer. It worked out.:)

We did have everyone show up that told me they were coming. I had so much fun, but of all days I had to have a migraine. I get those so often and it really cripples you. I was unable to eat all day (I know, I missed out on the best food, and my dad had to grill the chicken, I couldn't) (thanks dad!!!) I was feeling awful all day and felt like a terrible hostess, but other than that everything went off without a hitch. I was excited. I can't wait till our next big-to-do.
